About
I’m Andrew Scarr. I studied anthropology at the University of Georgia, then spent thirteen years at a cultural resources firm working in archaeology and historic preservation.
In 2015 I posted once on Nextdoor offering to wash houses. People called, then their neighbors called. In 2019 I went full time, and Revival has been my only job since.
The person who quotes your house is the person who washes it. Every job, start to finish, is mine.
Most of my work comes from people who already know me, or know someone I’ve worked for. I like being the person the neighborhood calls, and I like pulling onto a street I’ve worked before and getting a wave from a porch.
I also love the work itself. Watching a driveway or a brick wall come back to the color it was meant to be never gets old, and that satisfaction is why the details get done right.
This is the part I love. Nothing sanded, nothing sealed, nothing replaced.
I spent over a decade in a field whose entire purpose is protecting old things, and it changed how I look at a house.
It shows up in specific ways. Painted wood siding from the 1920s behaves nothing like vinyl from the 1990s. Old mortar is softer than the brick around it. And the fastest way to clean something is very often the way that costs the homeowner money later.
So I keep the pressure low, let the chemistry do the work, and give every job the time it needs.
The job I’m proudest of
Multiple buildings, and a board that had already let the previous company go. I brought in colleagues who own their own businesses, we got it done, and the board has me back every year.
The everyday version is simpler. Pulling up to a house on a street I’ve worked before, somebody waving from the porch, and leaving the place looking the way it did the day they bought it. That’s the job.
Send photos of what you're looking at and I'll take it from there.
Most quotes come back the same day. You don't need to be home.
